The Solitude of Nature

As I was driving out of the city my head slowly started to calm down. What was I missing ? But it's the fourth of July ? U are along at a campsite, building up you tent in the pouring rain. Suddenly peace and acceptance came in and I was enjoying the rain completely soaking me. Sitting in the car afterwards reading and taking notes of thoughts, good memories of camping came back. Spending all that time with my two amazing brothers, cruising through the Rockies and driving on highway 101 wit the whole family.

The next morning I realized what was missing in my daily routine. A certain belonging of time, not necessarily where my time went but where the priorities were.

In nature our bodies fall asleep and relax shortly after the sun sets. In the city we are always up and about doing " things " . Sweet remedy was the thought that arose. Having my mind set on tackling 99% of all the peaks and trails of the Park I set out on my mission.

Hiking for hours after hours through the heat and shrubbery I met some interesting people. The couple at one peak that loved the east coast and it's National Parks. The husband that was a full blown Italian with loads of wisdom to give. The young man, that had come there because of changes in his schedule. The five young people I met, clearing their day and leaving school on a busy day to enjoy the luscious joys of freedom. And I believe the young girl serving me at the home country family owned restaurant. She was frustrated and yet happy at the same time. She wanted out of that little town like a Lion wants to roam the savanna, and not be stuck in a Zoo. Instead of trying so hard to be someone we are not, let God show you who you are. It's who we are that resounds with other people, because we are real and ourselves.

I dedicate this Post to the people I met in a 48 hour time window of this thing we call life and all the surprises it holds. That's it for now
